Joey spent last week in Santa Barbara, at Westmont College at The Soccer Academy.  He had a great, if exhausting, time.  There were several kids from Bishop who went as well, which was surprising, considering how far it is from Bishop.  But, it was a wonderful time.  We also spent a day at the beach, and that was really fun.  We joined the Alexander, Pratt, and Powell families for a day of sun, fun, and sand.  Jeff Pratt broke out the beach soccer equipment, and we had a family game.  Man, it’s a lot harder to play soccer in the sand.  After the beach, we all went to the local Cold Stone Creamery for some ice cream, before heading back to our motel in Ventura.  It was one of those wonderful family days, that we’ll all remember for years to come.
